Join me for office hours.
My door is always open.*
*And by always I mean on the first Wednesday of the month at 5PM PT.
Fewer gates, fewer gatekeepers.
Maybe you’re struggling to land your first marketing job. Maybe you want to turn a design hobby into a career. Maybe you’re struggling to communicate with your boss. Maybe you’re just feeling adrift in our industry.
Whatever it is, I’m here to listen, and to help.
Welcome to Office Hours.
Next Session: February 7, 5PM PT.
I’m here to help.
Marketing is a tough industry to break into. The pay can be low, the recognition tough to come by, and the personalities large. I was privileged enough to have the resources to make my way in this industry on my own terms: co-founding an agency right out of college. We made a lot of mistakes, had a few successes, and eventually saw our way to the exit we dreamed about. Part of the reason for that is because we had the right people in our corner.
As I’m tinkering around on my next projects, I also want to open up my schedule to the next wave of marketers in need of support, the folks I might one day hire, collaborate with or even report to.
Thus, Office Hours.
On the first Wednesday of each month, I’m opening up an hour in my schedule for a small group discussion/vent session/coffee klatsch amongst marketers. This isn’t formal mentorship, just a chance to air your challenges in a safe, supportive space, and hopefully get some solutions.

What to expect.
This hour-long hot seat will be an open discussion amongst five participants and myself. No recording, no notes, no live tweeting…just frank conversation and support.
Each person will have the floor for ten minutes, and we’ll all have the chance to pitch in and offer feedback or ideas. Why? Because I don’t have all the answers. That’s why I’m running this as a group effort, and not one-on-one mentoring. I can’t speak to every type of campaign, agency, or lived experience. But maybe somebody else in the room can.
What should you come to discuss? The floor is yours! But, ideally, this is a space for you to bring problems related to breaking into this industry, advancing your career, job applications and interviews, office politics, and other career/marketing concerns. This is not a space to pitch your services or solicit a job. If you abuse the meeting as a space for that I will, very politely, kick you out. (I do not believe in dictatorships, but I will run this meeting as one, albeit very benevolently.)
If you’re ready, sign up below.
Who this might be for:
The soon-to-be-graduate with no clue how to answer the question “What next?”
The mid-career professional struggling to land an interview.
The marketer with an itch to strike out on their own.
Who this might not be for:
Someone looking to pitch their services for a gig or freelance work.
Someone looking to take without giving (or speak without listening).
Someone trying to leverage my network or relationships.
